Villa Aretousa

Villa Aretousa is situated on a small hill at the outskirts of the beautiful and picturesque town of Vamos. Villa Aretousa offers self-catering accommodation in a traditional setting. Villa has an an area of 120 m² and is divided into two levels. It comprises three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, a living area with a fireplace and large verandas with lovely mountains and sea views. Villa Aretousa accommodates up to 6 persons.

Vamos village, the historical capital of the area in the Prefecture of Chania known as Apokoronas, is a picturesque village that has seen significant growth in recent years. It has a lot of beautifully renovated houses, attractive lanes, and traditional restaurants and cafés. An ideal center for nature lovers, it offers a wide variety of routes for walking or hiking.
Vamos has a Health Centre that is open 24 hours a day, a chemist’s shop, a bank with ATM, a supermarket, a traditional bakery, and other shops. Surrounding Vamos, and only a short distance away, are several picturesque little villages which boast wonderful restaurants where you can enjoy authentic Cretan dishes.
Only 6 to 12 kilometers from Vamos can be found the sandy beaches of Almyrida, Kalyves, and Georgioupolis where you can swim, do water sports, enjoy fresh fish in small restaurants, and buy local handicrafts and traditional products in the shops.
Vamos also offers a wide range of options for day trips to destinations close at hand or further away, such as the beautiful Kournas Lake (only 4 km from Georgioupolis), Hora Sfakion, and Frangocastello, Paleohora, Omalos, and the Samaria Gorge, or Balos, Gramvousa and Elafonisi.

A car is necessary to get around freely and with convenience. The island is full of sights so car will enable you to discover everything on your own pace. There is local bus service from and to Vamos and local taxis are available around the clock.
