The beach is exposed and undeveloped, but the harbour is better maintained .

Within a 5 minute drive is the big village of Kavoussi and its neighboring beach of Tholos. Agios Nikolaos is 21 km away, Ierapetra at 15 km and Sitia is less than 50 km. The main airport at Heraklion is 80 km.
